Have I told y’all how much I love Instagram?
I love going through the wormholes of your sister’s, best friend’s, brother’s aunty, and then hitting on some random hashtag and BOOM … you find a breathtaking piece of art has just popped up on your screen.
That’s pretty much how I found Jeannie Dolan and boy oh boy, I’m glad I did!
Her still life art literally made me smile and I totally fell in love with a couple of her pieces, one of which is now proudly living in my home (below). I can’t wait to have it framed and share it all with you!
I like to know a little bit about the artists who hang in my home, and I thought you might enjoy meeting Jeannie too.
Jeannie lives on a beautiful property in Belmore Falls in the Southern Highlands, NSW. She lives with her husband and son, she has two daughters that have left the nest, and a 14 month old granddaughter.
She spends her days painting still life in her studio, she works with acrylics, oils and watercolours.
Jeannie says she finds her inspiration everywhere.
She often stops by the side of the road or gardens to pick flowers, or when the pickings are slim, she has a favourite florist – Flower Flower, who always has just what she is looking for.
She also enjoys painting landscapes and portraits.
Jeannie has recently entered her art in a few competitions and had some fabulous success.
Jeannie won 2nd prize at the 50th Annual Open Art Exhibition in 2015 run by Shoalhaven Art Society.
Jeannie was a finalist in 2015 for the Hornsby Art Prize with her ‘Dahlias in Blue Jug’ painting.
Also, some breaking news, Jeannie has just received word that she is a finalist in the Stanthorpe Art Festival which is judged in June.
A picture of the art piece is below, I’m sure you’ll agree it is a worthy finalist.
This is just a few of Jeannie’s pieces currently available.
Here’s a tip – Grab one now while they are still affordable!
OK, here’s the fun bit!
How can you get your hands on a Jeannie original?
