Yep, I said need … not want, not should, not would … NEED!
Lucky for you, I have found the perfect white tableware …
Introducing Leila from Pottery Barn.
Isn’t she lovely! I love her fluted edge and rustic beading. She is hand glazed which gives her a lovely handmade feel. This set is perfect for everyday use, but also charming enough for more festive or formal occasions.
A white dinner set is an absolute necessity, everyone should have one.
I feel pretty strongly about this, and I’m not only going to tell you why, I’m going to show you why. Pottery Barn have given me all the fabulous bits and pieces to style up a few different table settings to show y’all.
But firstly, here’s one of the best reasons to go white …
Food looks better on a white background, yep, it just does. So, if you’re a fabulous chef, then let your food shine on a white dinner plate. Or, if like me, you’re not the best cook, a clean white plate makes your food look so much better. #winning
White goes with everything. You can mix it with any table linen that takes your fancy, or you can layer it with accent plates, your Nanna’s vintage pieces or those super expensive plates that your still collecting, but only have 4.
It is suitable for every occasion, let me show you ….
For a dinner party.
I started with a beautiful crisp white tablecloth, then layered it with lashings of antique silver accessories, sparkling glassware and a shimmering candle votive. Finish with fresh white flowers.

* Everything pictured here is from Pottery Barn’s current range. If I haven’t provided a link to a product that you like, it’s probably sold out online, but may still be available in store. So here’s what you need to do – put your running shoes on and get yourself down to your local Pottery Barn, then cross your fingers they still have one left in store. If they don’t, never fear, I’m sure you’ll find something equally as gorgeous.

Hayley! I love this Leila set! Looking at registering for it. Is it durable? Good in the microwave and how is the chipping? Hard to decide with no reviews on Pottery Barn’s website. Felt the plate in person and LOVE this plate! Would like to know if they are durable for everyday? Thanks!

Also in addiction to asking about the durability, how is the center cutting area? I noticed it looks smaller than a average plate. Is there enough space? Thanks!
Hayley says
It a good size, definitely no smaller that a standard dinner set.

I’ve had mine now for a couple of years, with 3 kids and constant microwaving and dishwasher use, it still looks brand new, I’m really happy with it.

I just purchased this dinnerware having only admired it online for a long time and never seeing it in person until now. My dots are so incredibly inconsistent on the border it is making me crazy. Some are dark almost black, others slightly gray, and others almost no color at all. There are spots where the gray is almost smeared. Are others like this? I ordered 3 sets and each dish is totally different (and not in a way I appreciate). The cutting space is indeed much smaller (by at least 1”) than my previous dishes (both the salad and dinner plates) due to the fluting. I don’t mind that. Also, the design has a definite top/bottom and side/side. I had assumed it was more like a traffic stop and could be rotated 45 degrees without looking “off” from another dish. Totally fine, but I just hadn’t realized that. Any insight on the dots is appreciated! Thanks for all the styling ideas.

Hi Jess,
I’m so sorry you’re not completely happy with your purchase. This set definitely has a rustic appearance, I I think the irregularities make it feel handmade and organic. I personally love this type of character, but if you are unhappy I would speak to your local store or online customer care. Pottery Barn are a great company to deal with and I’m sure they’ll work with you. Hx
