This is the space I’ve got to work with for one of the living areas of our new home, which means our existing linen modular won’t work, OK It will, but ….. I need a new couch, or maybe two, I’d love you to help me choose!
Here is the existing space, don’t worry, that kitchen will be re worked and I’m hoping to keep the kitchen within the yellow highlighted boundaries, which leaves the rest of the area for living. The pink highlighted area is the boundaries that I need to keep the furniture within to allow enough space to walk around. Not a huge area, the entire living space is about 7.5m x 5.5m, and I really need to keep the furniture within a 4.5m x 4m area.
I’m hoping to squeeze two couches ( a 2 seater and a 3 seater) and 2 chairs in there, and a coffee table of course.
Here are some options for couches that I am pondering.
What do y’all think?
Slip covered or fixed upholstery? Colours? So many decisions, so much fun!
Have you bought a new couch recently? Show me, I’d love to see!

Hi Hayley, I love the East Hampton style one, if your new house is going to be anything like your current home this is so you! I think this sofa is made by Molmic for Coco Republic. It lends itself to a cotton blend fabric which can be trickier to clean. I deal with molmic a fair bit through my work as a designer and its a beautiful australian made product. Check molmic out online. However the Monti one is nice too and as a fully upholstered style the fabric choices like polyesters will be more forgiving to cleaning. I quite like the pale blue too and as you know goes wonderful with greens, pinks and Taupes!
I work with sofas a lot in my job if you have any questions just ask!
Ps. Love all your pics and am mainly on Instagram where you may have seen me as ‘insidehomeliving’ where I follow you but will subscribe to the blog to keep up to date with the new house, how exciting…. Good luck with the move and work ahead!

Hi Carla, Thanks so much for stopping by, and thanks for your great advice, I truly appreciate it! I have 3 kids and a dog so easy cleaning is high on my list of ‘must haves’. I was hoping to find something durable with removable covers, and not too expensive because I am likely to change my mind quickly, eek. I think I am asking for the impossible, hahaha! See you over on Insta, Hx
