An Australian summer is a hot and humid affair. I’ve searched high and low and found the most chic and stylish items to keep you cool this summer.
First and foremost, you have to Slip, Slop, Slap.
Slip on a shirt (or kaftan, or dress, just cover up, OK)…
Slop on sunscreen …
and Slap on a hat …
Stay hydrated! You really do need to watch you water intake during an Australian summer, so you may as well do it in style with a fabulous drink bottle.
Turkish towels are great things to have handy, they have a multitude of uses. I use mine for towels, lightweight blankets, tablecloths and on my bed.
If your like me and look forward to some leisurely sleep-ins during the summer, you’ll need one of these gorgeous cotton eye masks to keep that pesky morning sun out of your eyes.
And lastly, you can’t forget these essentials – for the summer nights …
For the itchy bites …
Hope you found something to make you comfortable this summer!
I love to decorate for Christmas, throw tinsel around like confetti, add splashes of clashing colours and make my house light up like Las Vegas, OK, so not really like Las Vegas, but a little bit of sparkle and twinkle!
I tell myself that I won’t start decorating until the 1st of December every year, but everything looks so pretty that I can’t help myself and Christmas starts creeping into our home in November.
So for those of you, like me, who need to start planning a little early, I’ve put together some of my favourite decorating ideas and shopping finds now.
COASTAL CHRISTMAS
Achieve this look with a palette of soft blues, sandy neutrals and lots of starfish!
CLASSIC CHRISTMAS
Traditional Christmas colours always look festive, go for red, green a gold and lot’s of it.
A WHITE CHRISTMAS
You can achieve this elegant look quite simply, but you’ll need to use all your self control, because the palette is quite strict. You’ll need to stick with primarily white and metallics, but boy it’s worth it, this looks amazing!
You didn’t think I was going to forget about the #blueandwhiteforever gals did you?
BLUE AND WHITE CHRISTMAS
What colours are you doing this christmas? I’d love to see, tag #mumlittleloveschristmas on Instagram!
Okey Dokey, I think I’d better get started then! If you need me I’ll be drowning in tinsel and glitter …
I have found so many great gift ideas in this past year of my shopping adventures and from my #mumlittleloves initiative on Instagram. I thought I’d share my favourites with you over the next 5 days.
I’m breaking it into 5 categories for y’all – Gals, Guys, Little Gals, Little Guys and Babies.
Here we go …
BABIES
I am an absolute sucker for these blankets, I actually wish they made them in adult sizes, they are so soft and snuggly! I love them so much I have a confession to make – I got a new niece a couple of weeks ago, and the very first thing I did when I found out she was a girl and her name was race to Pottery Barn Kids (an hour drive) and buy her one of these blankets with her name embroidered on it, yes – before I even went to the hospital to see her! It was worth it, Lily loves her new blanket!
I think a teepee is a great investment to buy for your baby. It is fabulous for protecting baby from the sun, then later for your toddlers own little hideaway, and it will grow with them all the way through to into double digit ages.
I love these classic little rompers handmade from 100% cotton, perfect for an Australia summer.
It’s no secret I love wooden toys, and I think these wooden teether toys are pretty fabulous too. The little caterpillar face is very sweet!
A hat is a necessity for an Australian lifestyle, so you may as well buy a cute one! These ones tick all the boxes with adjustable sizing and chin straps. Cute!
I hope you found something for the little cherubs in your life!
Happy Shopping – don’t forget, just click on the picture to be taken to the item.
